At Al-Bayyinaẗ. البينة, we are committed to providing transparent and fair services to authors, researchers, and institutions who engage with our journal. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which authors or institutions may request a refund for any fees paid, as well as the procedures for processing refunds. The policy aims to ensure that all transactions are handled with fairness and clarity.

1. Refund Conditions for Article Processing Charges (APC):

Article Processing Charges (APC) are fees paid by authors or institutions to cover the costs associated with the publication of their article in Al-Bayyinaẗ. البينة. Refunds for these charges are considered under the following conditions:

  • Pre-Acceptance Refunds:

    • If an author withdraws their manuscript before it has been accepted for publication, they may be eligible for a full refund of the APC, provided that the manuscript has not undergone substantial editorial or peer review work.

    • Requests for refunds must be made in writing, and the refund will be processed once the withdrawal has been confirmed by the editorial team.

  • Post-Acceptance Refunds:

    • Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, no refunds will be issued for the APC. This policy is in place due to the resources allocated to the review, editorial, and typesetting processes after acceptance.

    • If an author has paid the APC but then decides to withdraw the manuscript after acceptance, no refund will be provided, as the article has already entered the production phase.

  • Editorial or Journal Error:

    • If there has been a significant error on the part of the journal (e.g., mismanagement, failure to meet agreed-upon timelines, or other faults in the journal’s processes), authors may be eligible for a refund. The author must submit a detailed explanation of the issue, and the editorial board will review the case to determine if a refund is appropriate.

2. Refund Conditions for Subscription Fees (for Print Copies):

For subscribers who have purchased print copies of the journal, refunds will be processed under the following conditions:

  • Subscription Cancellations Before Shipment:

    • If a subscriber cancels their subscription before the print issue has been shipped, they are entitled to a full refund for the remaining issues in the subscription.

    • A cancellation request must be received in writing, and the subscriber will be refunded within 14 days of receiving the request.

  • Subscription Cancellations After Shipment:

    • Once the printed issue has been shipped, no refunds will be issued, as the physical product has been delivered. However, if there is an issue with the print quality or content, the subscriber may be eligible for a replacement copy or an appropriate remedy based on the situation.

  • Print-on-Demand Refunds:

    • For print-on-demand orders, refunds are not issued once the print order has been processed and shipped. In the case of errors in printing or shipping, the journal will offer a replacement copy or alternative compensation.

3. Refund for Special Circumstances:

In exceptional cases where the journal is unable to fulfill its commitment to authors or subscribers due to unforeseen circumstances, such as major delays in publication or failure to provide the expected service, authors or subscribers may request a refund. Such cases will be reviewed individually, and refunds may be issued at the discretion of the editorial team.

4. Refund Processing Time:

  • Refund requests will be processed within 14 business days from the date the request is confirmed.

  • Refunds will be issued through the same payment method used for the original transaction (e.g., credit card, bank transfer, PayPal). If the original payment method is unavailable, a suitable alternative method will be arranged with the author or subscriber.

5. Non-Refundable Fees:

  • Late Fees: Any late fees incurred due to missed deadlines or delayed payments are non-refundable.

  • Handling and Shipping Fees: Any additional handling or shipping fees for printed copies are non-refundable once the item has been shipped.

6. Requesting a Refund:

To request a refund, authors or subscribers must contact the editorial team at the journal’s official email address with the following information:

  • The reason for the refund request.

  • Proof of payment (e.g., transaction ID, payment receipt).

  • Any relevant correspondence or documentation to support the request.

  • In the case of subscriptions, details of the subscription plan and cancellation request.

Refund requests can be submitted to:
Email: support@albayyina.com.pk

7. Limitation of Liability:

Al-Bayyinaẗ. البينة is not responsible for any damages, losses, or inconveniences incurred as a result of the submission process, publication delays, or other editorial decisions. The journal does not guarantee the acceptance or publication of any submitted manuscript, and all refund requests are subject to the conditions outlined in this policy.

8. Policy Changes:

This refund policy may be updated from time to time. Authors and subscribers will be notified of any significant changes. All refund requests will be processed in accordance with the policy in place at the time the request is made.
